(Washington, D.C.) – Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall spoke today at the National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance, hosted by the Family Research Council at the Museum of the Bible. The event brought together faith and civil leaders from all 50 states to commemorate the United States’ 250th anniversary and to reflect on the shared principles that have historically united us as a great nation. Marshall was chosen to represent Alabama.
“As we mark 250 years as a nation, we face a critical moment,” Attorney General Marshall said. “We must return to the biblical foundations that once guided our nation’s civic life: reverence for God’s moral law as the basis for true justice, leaders who govern with integrity and protect the vulnerable, and institutions rebuilt upon the rock of unchanging truth rather than shifting sands. We lift in prayer all those in law enforcement who serve and protect our communities, including the federal officer attacked in Alabaster this week. I pray that God will pour out His Spirit upon Alabama and our nation, revive hearts, heal divisions, and restore the principles of faith and justice that have sustained us for 250 years.”
