AG STRANGE ANNOUNCES ARREST OF MONTGOMERY DENTIST
ON CHARGES OF MEDICAID FRAUD AND THEFT

(MONTGOMERY) – Attorney General Luther Strange announced that a
Montgomery dentist has been indicted on charges of Medicaid fraud and first-
degree theft of property.

Marcia Stoddart White, 53, a resident of Pike Road in Montgomery
County, operates a pediatric dental practice in Montgomery. The March 2011
term of the Montgomery County grand jury returned indictments against White,
charging her with 73 counts of Medicaid fraud, a class C felony, and one count of
first-degree theft of property, a class B felony. White surrendered yesterday at
the Montgomery County Detention Center and was released on a $60,000 bond.

The case was investigated by agents assigned to the Attorney General’s
Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, after being referred by the Alabama Medicaid
Agency’s Program Integrity Division. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant
Attorney General Bruce M. Lieberman, who serves as the director of the
Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the Attorney General’s office.

*An indictment is merely an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
