AG STRANGE REMINDS ALABAMIANS
OF POSSIBLE BP CLAIMS OPPORTUNITY

(MONTGOMERY)–Attorney General Luther Strange reminded
Alabamians today that they may be eligible to collect compensation from
BP due to the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill.

“BP has agreed that many Alabama business and organizations are
eligible for payment, and not just those located along the Gulf Coast,”
Attorney General Strange said. “BP’s settlement with private plaintiffs puts
a formula in place for compensation. If your business fits, it qualifies.”

To date, Alabamians have submitted more than 23,000 claims to the
court-supervised claims program. Although the deadline for seeking a
claim is not until April of 2014, Attorney General Strange urged that
Alabamians with potential claims not delay and miss this opportunity to
see if they are eligible for compensation.

Attorney General Strange stated that Alabamians with questions
regarding their eligibility to contact the claims program directly at 1-886-
992-6174 or to visit the program’s website,
www.deepwaterhorizonsettlements.com.
