ALABAMA ATTORNEY GENERAL LUTHER STRANGE HONORED BY
TULANE LAW SCHOOL
INDUCTED INTO TULANE LAW SCHOOL HALL OF FAME
(MONTGOMERY) – Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange was inducted into the Tulane Law
School Hall of Fame during a ceremony hosted by the law school in New Orleans today.
Attorney General Strange, a 1975 graduate of Tulane University and a 1979 graduate of Tulane Law
School, was recognized among a class of seven inductees which included prominent judges, lawyers and
legal scholars.
Hall of Fame selections are made by an alumni committee, in consultation with the dean, based upon their professional accomplishments and enduring dedication to the mission and students of Tulane Law School.
“I am greatly humbled to be included among the distinguished law school alumni and faculty honored by
Tulane, an outstanding institution which has profoundly helped to shape my life and legal career,” said
Attorney General Strange.

Attorney General Strange attended Tulane on a basketball scholarship where he played forward for the
Green Wave. Upon graduation, he spent a year working for New Orleans-based Tidewater Marine on an
oil supply ship in the North Sea before returning to Tulane to earn his Juris Doctor.
As Alabama’s 49th Attorney General, Luther Strange has led his legal team to noteworthy victories,
including successfully arguing an important First Amendment case, Lane v Franks, before the United
States Supreme Court. Additionally, he was the court-appointed coordinating counsel for the five Gulf
States in the historic Deepwater Horizon litigation, the largest environmental damages case in U.S.
history. Prior to entering public service, he enjoyed a successful career in private practice during which
time his law firm was recognized as one of the best nationwide in economic development.
